Popeye is a gruff, suceptible sailor who reacts violently when provoked. He speaks with a strong marine accent. He is one-eyed and often has a corn pipe in his mouth. When his fiancee named Olive is in danger, he eats spinach, his favorite dish which gives him enormous strength.
